A worker is worth of his wages.
1 Tim 5:18 and Deut 25:1-4 Do not muzzle and ox while it is treading the grain.
An ox needs grain to live and to function. And you use that ox to do what? Tread out the grain. The ox needs food and you need to give the ox food to help make YOUR food. Wouldn't it be tempting to close the mouth of the ox preventing him from eating and make all food for me and not give any food to him. No! You feed the ox while it takes care of you. The actual point from the old law is about beating a wrong doer! He's really talking about how to take care of someone who has done something wrong. Take them before judge, the judge decides how much to punish them with a stipulation to beat them no more than 40 lashes. Any more you can potentially break them! "You shall not muzzle the ox". So treat people well in any circumstance. Don't push people to the breaking point. As Paul brings it up with elders we see we may be pushing men to the breaking point.
