AN ENCOURAGING WORD

Example of an Evangelist Method

Disproving We are born with a Sinful Nature

TEXT: Genesis 1:26-28

INTRODUCTION:

1. Lots of Discouragement

2. People need God but they don't know it

3. People really do want the Truth

4. There are opportunities but sometimes we don't recognize them

IS THERE A WAY TO TALK TO PEOPLE TO ENCOURAGE THEM?

I. A SIMPLE APPROACH

1. Everyday Conversations

a. Asking unusual question

1. Ask for permission

2. IS IT OKAY IF I ASK YOU AN UNUSUAL QUESTION?

A. DO YOU BELIEVE THERE IS A GOD?

B. DO YOU WANT TO HEAR AN ENCOURAGING WORD FROM GOD?

C. DO YOU KNOW THAT GOD BELIEVES YOU ARE VERY IMPORTANT?

3. WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT YOU?

A. He ONLY says this about you - Genesis 1:26-28, 31

4. WHAT GOD WANTS

a. He wants you - 1 Timothy 2:4

5. WHAT WE NEED TO KNOW

a. We just need to please God - Colossians 1:10

b. Devil - Calvinist world wants you to believe that we are born

with a Sinful Nature

WHAT IF ONE ALREADY BELIEVES THE BIBLE IS THE WORD OF GOD?

1. DID YOU KNOW THAT THE NEW TESTAMENT IS A PATTERN?

A. IS INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC PART OF THIS PATTERN?

1. Worship in Spirit & Truth - John 4:23-24

2. Jesus has ALL Authority - Matthew 28:18

3. What does the New Testament say about this? Ephesians 5:19 & Col. 3:16-17

PROVING THAT WE ARE STILL MADE IN THE IMAGE OF GOD - Genesis 1:26

1. Genesis 3:22 says in a sense man became more like God

a. We were created with a moral nature like God

b. We have the ability to learn - Deuteronomy 4:10

c. Consider Adam's son Seth's nature - Genesis 5:1-3

d. After the flood what God tells Noah's Family - Genesis 9:6

CONCLUSION:

HAVE WE BEEN PLANTING AND WATERING GOD'S WORD LIKE WE THINK WE SHOULD?
